Well, it’s the start of a new year and that can only mean one thing – it’s AHR Expo season! This February’s show in Orlando will mark the 42nd year that Super Radiator Coils has exhibited at the expo (come visit us at booth #3361!), and we’re looking forward to bringing new people, products, and ideas to Orlando.
We asked a few SRC team members who will be attending the show some things they’re looking to accomplish during their time in Orlando, some topics they expect to be prevalent, and their thoughts on the event in general.
Charlie Morain, Sales & Engineering Manager, SRC Minnesota
February’s show will be my second time attending the AHR Expo. My main goal for attending the show this year is to network and learn more about how SRC can assist in helping solve our current and future customers' biggest problems. Attending the learning sessions provides a great way to get some quick insights into where the industry is moving and what is next on the horizon in terms of innovation.
As far as industry topics are concerned, I am most interested in hearing more about how different companies continue to react to the phase outs of older refrigerants and learn more about what their plans are moving forward. Using low GWP refrigerants is always a topic of interest, and I am excited to see how companies plan to shift to natural refrigerants such as propane and CO2.
I’m sure that heat pump technologies will be a frequent topic of discussion as well. Efficiency is always top of mind within the industry, so I am interested to see what new technologies may be driving higher efficiencies.
Tyler Jones, Material Procurement, SRC Virginia
This year’s Orlando show will be the first AHR Expo that I’ve attended. As someone who works in purchasing, my goals are primarily to network with potential and existing vendors. I’m also interested in seeing how refrigerant regulations are impacting the industry from a materials perspective.
Also, I’m looking forward to learning as much as I can about the HVAC-R industry in general. I’m excited to be one of SRC’s representatives at the show and to experience the expo for the first time.
Raul Babilonia, Sales Applications Engineer, SRC Arizona
It will also be my first time attending the AHR Expo. My goals are to broaden my horizons and understanding of the world of heat transfer and do some industry networking during my time at the show. I’m also planning to meet with customers to further my relationship with them and see how SRC can further facilitate growth for their companies.
I’m excited to learn more about how companies are approaching the transition away from R-410A to R-454B. I think some hot topics will be electrification and decarbonization as well.
With the push for electrification, a lot of companies are moving towards air source heat pumps as an answer. I’m excited to see how companies are going about developing this product line. I’m just grateful to be able to represent SRC at this year’s AHR. It’ll be an experience worth remembering and I’ll make the most of my time there.
Reynolds Short, Sales Application Engineer, SRC Virginia
This show in February will be my first time at the AHR expo! As a new engineer at SRC, I feel like this show is both a mix of learning and networking with customers – both new and old. I hope to learn more about the industry and trends therein.
I’m also looking forward to getting more face time with my customers and attending the various courses offered by the show. I am interested in how the industry is being changed by the growing data center industry due to the growth of primarily AI computing. I am hoping to also see more CO2 heat pump units and the advancements that have been made in that sector.
